Viasaterna is pleased to announce Guido Guidi’s solo exhibition Da un'altra parte, curated by Alessandro Rabottini, at the 10·Corso·Como Gallery from 7 May through 27 July 2025.
The exhibition provides a wide-ranging showcase for Guidi’s photographic work. The selection of the photographs has been devised around a specific theme: that of shadows, a recurring motif in Guidi’s practice, which underlines his ongoing investigation into space and light.
Guido Guidi's images are a distilled reflection on the most quotidian, marginal, and anti-monumental spaces that we inhabit, a tactile exploration of the forms that surround us and which we often neglect, rendered as if frozen in time. Over the decades Guidi has consolidated his own “poetics of attention”, which never takes for granted the very act of seeing and indeed delves into its existential, formal, and theoretical implications. Thanks to the consistency with which he has always scrutinized the most liminal aspects of reality, Guidi has also influenced generations of photographers, creating a visual idiom that is as subtle as it has been seminal.
Da un’altra parte compiles photographs taken between the early 1970s and 2023, in an exhibition that evokes the persistence and recurrence of certain themes across the decades. Although Guidi conceives, publishes, and shows his work through the format of the photographic series, in this exhibition the selection of works concentrates on single images, extrapolated from the series to which they belong and placed in dialogue with each other, over and above the chronological and thematic structures, according to a principle of poetic and formal tension.
