Viasaterna’s exhibit project for Artgenève 2022 presents in the Photographie section the solo show of Guido Guidi (Cesena, 1941).
Guidi places at the very heart of his research “the becoming” to which everything is subjected, using photography as a process of knowledge, clarification and understanding of reality. His work is characterized by a convinced interest in the edges, in the boundary, in the undefined territories of the province, following a free zone, in the absence of stereotypes. The rural areas and architectures that run along the Via Emilia reflect, in the artist’s work, this desire to observe without prejudice uncodified and liminal situations of open and questioning nature. The attention to the temporal dimension, seeking beauty as a fleeting grasp of appearance, is particularly evident in the series of photographs dedicated to Carlo Scarpa, the Tomba Brion, which the Cesena-born artist developed over 10 years of activity and on-the-spot surveys. This selected collection of photographs, curated in collaboration with Artgenève, is a precious testimony to Guidi’s work over 3 decades.
