Azzurro fragile. I calanchi delle argille azzurre nell’arte contemporanea                                                                    
We are pleased to announce that Barbara De Ponti will take part in the group exhibition Azzurro fragil. I calanchi delle argille azzurre nell’arte contemporane, curated by Matteo Zauli.

The Collezioni Comunali d’Arte of Settore Musei Civici Bologna welcomes the travelling exhibition project Azzurro fragile. I calanchi delle argille azzurre nell’arte contemporanea, an in-depth study entrusted to important Italian and international artists who have lived in, live in, or assiduously frequent the territory cultivated by the famous blue clays between the municipalities of Cesena and Castel San Pietro.

After the exhibition IMMANENT. The art of Faenza reshaped by water strongly desired by Comune di Bologna and organised at the Collezioni Comunali d'Arte a few months after the flood that hit the Romagna region in May 2023, Azzurro fragile. I calanchi delle argille azzurre nell'arte contemporanea constitutes the second project expression of the agreement signed between Settore Musei Civici Bologna and Museo Carlo Zauli for the realisation of research, artistic, cultural, didactic, popular and participatory activities that can contribute to the research, valorisation, popularisation and innovation of the culture of ceramics and the arts.

The exhibition, curated by Matteo Zauli, is promoted by Settore Musei Civici Bologna | Musei Civici d'Arte Antica, Unione della Romagna Faentina, Faenza Municipality and Museo Carlo Zauli, with the support of Regione Emilia-Romagna.

The initiative is part of the Festival dei Calanchi e delle Argille Azzurre, a project conceived by the Museo Carlo Zauli and developed together with the Municipality of Faenza to valorise the ‘calanchi delle argille azzurre’, a geographical area between Faenza, Brisighella, Riolo Terme and Castel Bolognese that is at the basis of the history of local ceramics and a source of inspiration for many artists.
