Viasaterna is pleased to invite you to the first happening of Take Care, a new project by Barbara De Ponti, which will be launched on Friday 7th June from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Forlì (FC) at the Podere Agricolo, Casa della Legalità.
Realised thanks to the collaboration of various local realities operating in the social sphere, such as For.B and Libera, the Take Care project is an initiative aimed at involving various places in the Forlivese area through art.
Already linked in the past to this particular geographical area, to its blue clays from which in 2017 she created a series of sculptures, the artist identified the Campo Podere Agricolo, redeveloped and reconverted following last year's flood, as the most appropriate place for her first intervention.
At the centre of the performative action is the instinctive gesture of caring: hands that approach to protect, arms that wrap and guard. These gestures will be the matrix of 12 red stoneware vases, modelled by personalities who work in the field on a daily basis through their activities, thus imprinting the shape of their knowledge and experience on the material. The entire process will be documented with photographs and audio recordings, highlighting the many facets of caring, based on the history of the place and its community.
This autumn, once completed, the sculptures will be exhibited to establish a dialogue with the public invited to replicate the gestures and suggesting a value transmission: taking care - of the human being around us and of the territory we occupy.
