Camilla Gugrone
Lucca, 1997. Lives and works between Milan and Rome.
After earning a degree in Sculpture from RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, in 2024 she graduated in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies from NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. Since 2022 she has been part of the curatorial and organizational team of spazioSERRA (Milan) and the project space Omuamua (Milan), and in 2023 she also completed an internship as an assistant to the artist Luca Vitone.
Her work activates spaces and imaginaries through participatory artworks: moving between the languages of installation and performance, she encourages audience interaction through a playful impulse, sometimes leaving room for a poetic sensibility made of delicacy and hidden details. She has taken part in numerous residencies, including VIR_Via Farini In Residence (Milan) in 2022, curated by Giulio Verago, and has received awards such as the New Vision Award 2022, Bacteriart sponsored by Yakult Italia and promoted by NABA Milan, and the SkyArte Prize for the RUFA Contest 2019. She has presented her work in various solo and group exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad, including Fluidum – Round Trip (2023) at Pavillon am Milchhof Schwedter in Berlin, Fou Rire (2023) at Galleria unosunove in Rome, Pizzeria Casa Kunstschau (2022) curated by Kunstschau Contemporary Place in Lecce, and BilbaoArte puertas abiertas (2020) at Fundación BilbaoArte in the Basque Country. Since 2024 she has been represented by Viasaterna, where she exhibited in the group show Meccanica, curated by Giorgio Verzotti. In 2024 she was selected for the project “Nuovo Grand Tour – Edition 2,” promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity and the Italian Cultural Institute, through which she will be an artist in residence at Fondation Fiminco in Romainville, Île-de-France, starting in January 2025. In 2025, she took part in the group exhibition Transizioni. Dal fotografico alle immagini ibride, curated by Mauro Zanchi in collaboration with Aurelio Andrighetto, at Viasaterna Gallery.
