Ephemera. Attraverso la carta | Barbara De Ponti
Viasaterna is pleased to announce Barbara De Ponti’s participation in the group exhibition EPHEMERA. Attraverso la carta, curated by Alessandro Castiglioni, at the MA*GA Museum.
The exhibition presents a previously unseen selection of works from the Museum’s collection; these works are united by a sense of transience and lightness, referring both to the material they employ—paper—and to the conditions that led to their creation or the themes to which they allude.
The exhibition opens with two major sections dedicated to the archives of Silvio Zanella and Vittorio Tavernari. It continues with a historical section on material experimentation involving paper, from Giuseppe Spagnulo to Luca Vitone. A distinct section is devoted to the 1998 project realized at the Civica Galleria d’Arte Moderna on the occasion of the two hundredth anniversary of Giacomo Leopardi’s birth. Exhibited for the first time at MA*GA are works on paper by Irma Blank, Lucia Pescador, William Xerra, and Roberto Sanesi.
The exhibition concludes with a contemporary section featuring the reinstallation of Bianco Valente’s immersive environment and a focus on a selection of previously unseen etchings by Barbara De Ponti, part of the Clay Time Code project (2016–2022), recently acquired by the Museum.
