Guido Guidi. Col Tempo, 1956 - 2024 | Udine

Viasaterna is pleased to announce the extensive retrospective Guido Guidi. Col tempo, 1956–2024  at Casa Cavazzini – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

The exhibition, dedicated to one of the leading figures in Italian and international photography, is produced by the MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts in collaboration with the Civic Museums of the City of Udine and the Guido Guidi Archive.

Curated by Simona Antonacci, Pippo Ciorra, and Antonello Frongia, the exhibition retraces Guidi’s artistic journey (Cesena, 1941), beginning with his private archive in Ronta. This intimate place, at once studio, home, and a workshop for young authors, serves as a privileged entry point for a deeper understanding of his “theory” of vision.
The exhibition follows both a chronological and thematic structure, unfolding through more than 350 photographic prints organized into 34 sequences, along with a rich selection of archival materials displayed in themed cases. Guidi’s work has profoundly transformed the relationship with landscape and architecture, consistently placing at its core the act of seeing and the passage of time.
