Viasaterna is pleased to present Trip the Light Fantastic by Martina Ferrari, a site-specific project for Volvo Studio Milano in which the artist transforms the studio into a sensorial dimension through superimpositions of images, transparencies and installations. Ferrari subverts the concept of the environment, creating an experience of continuous oscillation between reality and representation.

The title of the exhibition comes from an expression meaning ‘to dance’ and is also the title of a song by Greta Van Fleet. In their music, the concept of dance is transformed into a journey through time and space, a whirling movement that transcends matter and challenges perception.

Visitors will be welcomed to the interior spaces of Volvo Studio Milano by photographic negatives altered by superimposing one over the other, accompanied by electrostatic prints and photographic prints on semi-transparent fabrics. Continuing in the Meeting Room, an installation of seven Plexiglas cubes enclosing photographs taken within the Studio will take centre stage, playing with the alteration of space and its temporariness and perception.
