Paris Photo 2025 | Marion Baruch and Elisabetta Catalano
Viasaterna is pleased to participate in Paris Photo 2026 with the works of Guido Guidi (Cesaro, 1941) and Alessandro Calabrese (Trento, 1983) in the Voices Sector.
Tha Paris Photo 2026 project proposes a dialogue between Guido Guidi (1941, Cesena, Italy), a pivotal figure in Italian landscape photography, and Alessandro Calabrese (1983, Trento, Italy), a post-photographic artist shaped under his influence.
Guidi redefined landscape as a field of attention and thought, transforming photography into a critical device through which the act of seeing itself is questioned. Calabrese extends this legacy by shifting from photography as representation to photography as a problem, using error and repetition to test the image between abstraction and figuration, permanence and instability; he confronts the contemporary proliferation of images and the instability of their meaning.
The project traces continuity and fracture between these positions, from a gaze rooted in the real to a contemporary image culture shaped by uncertainty and the changing conditions of photography.
