Viasaterna announces its participation to miart 2025 with a booth dedicated to Guido Guidi (Cesena, 1941) and Marion Baruch (Timisoara, 1929).

The body of work selected by Viasaterna highlights one of the most interesting aspects of the practice of the two artists, who explore, through their distinct mediums, the theme of emptiness.

Marion Baruch's works in the exhibition are textile compositions that articulat in space, all created since 2012. Using the remnants of
of ready-to-wear garments, scraps of fabric otherwise destined to be destroyed, Baruch codifies a language through the alternation of forms colours, matter and emptiness, not modifying the material except through gesture composition and the force of gravity. The void is the focal point of the artist's poetic of the artist, becoming a living space and the starting point of his research.

Close to Baruch's language, a corpus of photographs taken by Guido Guidi where space is not a container of things, but an entity in itself, to be perceived and understood. Space without coordinates, characterised by alternating light and shadow, is the protagonist of his images, in which it becomes indispensable for variations in time, space and light to occur. The void, a concept that manifests itself subtly and poetically in his images, is not just a physical space, but an opportunity to capture what often goes unnoticed, such as the margins urban margins, suburbs and forgotten landscapes.

Together, Baruch and Guidi's works manage to give a sense of sacredness to what is empty and insignificant, and to create a ‘full’ one of suggestion and reflection.
